Avoriaz had over 13 metres of snowfall this season, more than any other resort in the French Alps.

Morzine it's self!! Doing a ski season in Morzine could be one of the best decisions you ever make, Morzine sits 1000 metres above sea level and is linked directly to the high altitude resort of Avoriaz at 1800 metres. This low altitude of 1000 metres means Morzine usually escapes the worst of the severe winter conditions unlike resorts like Val Thorens but at the same time with the Mt Blanc and lake Geneva micro climate Morzine still boasts some of the best riding conditions in Europe. The town of Morzine it's self is a year round resort with a large peremenant residence, Morzine is also very famous for its Mountain biking, climbing, hiking etc also in the summer.

Location is not the most vital aspect of your ski season as you will spend  5 months in resorts unless you are transfer driving to the airport etc. However this is another element that does help and Morzine's location is one of the best you will find. Located within a one hour drive of Geneva international airport and only a 1.5 hour flight from most UK cities getting to Morzine could not be easier. This is also great if you need to return to the UK at any point during your ski season, or if friends and family visit etc. It means transfers are cheap, travel time is low and its very simple.

Morzine is also one of the best located ski resorts in Europe to be based for your ski season due to its surrounding resorts. Situated in the Huge Portes Du Soleil surrounded by other resort like Chamonix, Les Carroz, Flaine, Samoens, Verbier, all easily access able with in an hour or so. The Northern Alps has many resorts in close proximity and just enhances the ability to enjoy your season in Morzine even more.

Some advice or more information from our years of experience regarding ski season work are as follows.

Chalet host work is long hours, bad pay and your accommodation with be very basic. You will work very hard day and night to assist your clients with duties such as cleaning, cooking, driving etc. The pay is bad yes but somethimes your food, accommodation, lift pass and travel paid for if you find the correct company and are lucky but most will only cover a few of those elements. We have a list of the good and bad ones from past experiences and others experiences over many seasons.

Bar/ Transfer driving / waitress etc work is much better paid, you will get good tips and have a lot more freedom, your hours are set so you know where you stand. You have a lot more freedom to get up the Mountain and do what you are really here to do, ski/snow board all winter. Some companies will pay your lift pass and maybe even your accommodation. The pay is much better and we think it leads for a much better experience on your ski season here in Morzine!! Not many return seasonaires work for chalet companies again but sometimes financial reasons dictate.
